What’s brewing in May?

As programs wrap up the program year and prepare for what’s ahead, this month’s updates are focused on improving efficiency, strengthening communication, and supporting compliance across your agency.

From CLASS® 2nd Edition support to enhanced reporting and safety features, GoEngage continues to evolve alongside your team’s needs.

Let’s take a look at what’s new this month.

GoEngage Feature Spotlight

Feature Spotlight: CLASS® 2nd Edition Now Available in GoEngage

GoEngage now supports the new CLASS® 2nd Edition instruments for both Pre-K–3rd and Infant–Toddler age groups!

As agencies continue to strengthen classroom quality and school readiness efforts, this update helps programs stay aligned with the latest CLASS framework while simplifying observation and scoring processes within GoEngage.

What’s New:

✔ Support for the updated CLASS® 2nd Edition framework
✔ Pre-K–3rd and Infant–Toddler instruments available
✔ Easy setup within System Settings
✔ Integrated score entry directly in GoEngage

This enhancement gives education teams a more streamlined and centralized way to document, monitor, and support quality classroom interactions across their program.

📍 To enable the new instruments: Navigate to System Settings → Classroom/Teacher Assessment Instrument and select the new CLASS® 2nd Edition options for your age groups.

We’re excited to continue expanding tools that support high-quality teaching, coaching, and continuous improvement efforts for Head Start programs.

GoEngage Tips & Tricks

Here are a few quick updates and hidden gems from this month’s release that can help improve security, communication, and efficiency across your program:

  • Limit Referral Notifications by Organizational Access

You can now scope internal referral email notifications so staff only receive alerts for children they can access based on their organizational permissions. This helps reduce unnecessary notifications while improving confidentiality and workflow management.

  • Hide Unauthorized Adults in Kiosk View

Programs using kiosk attendance can now hide adults who are not marked as “Authorized to receive child” — helping improve safety and simplify pickup/drop-off screens for staff.

  • Require Mobile Numbers for Emergency Contacts

Want more reliable emergency communication? Agencies can now require mobile phone and provider information for emergency contacts within Required Fields & Sections settings.

  • New Adult Meals Reporting Options

Easily track meals for program and non-program staff with our new Adult Meals options in Data Navigator, our custom report tool! Find them under the “Class” category and tailor the report to your program’s needs.

  • Expanded Data Navigator Fields

Additional Data Navigator fields are now available for:

  • DRDP by Classroom/Caseload

  • DRDP Observations

  • Attendance Policy signature dates

  • Emergency Contact signature dates

These additions make it even easier to build meaningful reports and strengthen compliance tracking across your program.
